Workshop on "Mixing: at the crossroads of foundations and practices"

 

Brussels, 4 - 6 December 2024 - ULB - Campus Plaine

This workshop is intended to bring together specialists in the field of Mixing in the broad sense. This event will be the opportunity to appreciate recent advances, both experimental and conceptual on the topic, and discuss the future of the discipline.

 

Six sessions are foreseen:

Session 1: Fundamentals of Mixing

Session 2: Mixing in Multiphase systems

Session 3: Mixing in Geophysical contexts

Session 4: Mixing in living systems

Session 5: Stirring with walls, particles, and viscosity contrasts

Session 6: Mixing and Chemical Reactions

Registration

Attendance is free of charge but registration is required (limited space).


To register, please click on ‘Click HERE to register’ at the top right of the webpage.

 

After registering you should receive an automatic response confirming that your registration has been submitted.

This message is then followed by an email confirming your participation.


Name badges will be distributed on site on Wednesday 4 December from 09:30 a.m.


Poster session

A poster session will be organized on Wednesday 4 December, poster presentation from attendees is strongly encouraged.

 

If you wish to apply, please send a title and a short abstract (maximum 500 words including references)
to Isabelle Van Geet by email at isabelle.vangeet@solvayinstitutes.be, by 6 November 2024.

Notifications regarding the status of your abstract will be sent once the review process is complete.

The workshop will be held at ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles) - Campus Plaine - Bld de la Plaine

Banquet

A banquet will be held on Thursday 5 December at 7:30 p.m.
For those who wish to attend, there will be a 50 Euro banquet fee to be paid cash on the first day of the workshop.

An email with the banquet registration details will be sent to all participants in September.
